Frequently Asked Questions about the NSP Program...
What is NSP?
NSP stands for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program. The Village of Ortonville applied for a grant last October and was awarded $491,933 funded through US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These funds allow the Village to address abandoned and foreclosed properties.
Does the Village maintain a list of foreclosed properties?
No, we do not maintain a current list of foreclosed properties.
Can I go look at the houses and select one?
No. The goal of NSP is to stabilize neighborhoods. In the first phase of this project, the Village will identify abandoned and foreclosed properties in the greatest need and acquire those properties to either demolish and redevelop, or rehabilitate. Once the project is complete, the home(s) will be offered for sale to income qualified individuals who fall within the HUD defined income requirements.
Please check back to the website for periodic updates on the progress of our NSP Program.
